SCIENCO® SciCHLOR® Sodium Hypochlorite Generator is a fully integrated, simple, and compact designed system. The SciCHLOR® system with SciCELL® technology uses a recirculating method to produce optimum strength sodium hypochlorite solution in 10 lb (4.5 kg), 20 lb (9 kg), 40 lb (18 kg) and 60 lb (27 kg) NaClO/day sizes.

Description

A SIMPLE SOLUTION FOR DISINFECTION AND WATER TREATMENT

Provides a SAFE, Economic & On-Demand Production of Chlorine!

SCIENCO® SciCHLOR® Sodium Hypochlorite Generator features a “multi-pass” scouring design utilizing a robust SciCELL® electrolytic unit, control panel, and recirculation pump to automatically run at the optimum and extend cell life with power-save shut down if no usage of sodium hypochlorite.

Why use a sodium hypochlorite generator system?

A sodium hypochlorite generator alleviates the safety concerns associated with storing and using bulk sodium hypochlorite, chlorine tablets, or chlorine gas. With an on-site generation of chlorine, a generator produces sodium hypochlorite at a cost that is significantly lower than purchasing from an outside source the hypochlorite stays fresh instead of degrading in storage. Ideal applications range from potable water disinfection and agricultural food & Beverage industries to other commercial industrial applications. Factory-tested, each compact SciCHLOR® comes complete with an integral brine tank, SciCELL® unit, control panel, and recirculation pump.

  • Consistent, On-demand Chlorine Production
  • Compatible with all Salt Types
  • Integrated Compact Design
  • Automatic Optimized Salinity
  • Low Cost & Easy to Replace Parts
  • Simple Maintenance/Low Operating Costs

The Scienco® SciCHLOR® sodium hypochlorite generator features SciCELL® technology for a pre-engineered, on-site system to safely and efficiently make chlorine. The SciCHLOR® converts saturated (26%) brine solution to a 0.8% strength hypochlorite – which is below the hazardous material threshold of 1%. The system includes a brine tank, chlorine storage tank, controls, and the SciCELL® unit.

The Scienco® SciCHLOR® sodium hypochlorite generator system uses a recirculating method to provide minimal operator attention and consistent chlorine strength. The Scienco® SciCHLOR® sodium hypochlorite generator maintains effective, reliable disinfection at an affordable cost with long SciCELL® life and easy maintenance.

Available in sizes:

Ideal for onsite chlorine applications

Water treatment could be applied to various fields, our anodes are currently used for Sodium Hypochlorite and Electrolysis of water.

Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is a compound that can be effectively used for water purification. It is used on a large scale for surface purification, bleaching, odor removal and water disinfection. It can be also applied in sanitary wastewater and industrial wastewater, etc.

Sodium hypochlorite is applied in swimming pools for water disinfection and oxidation. It has the advantage that microorganisms cannot build up any resistance to it. Sodium hypochlorite is effective against Legionella bacteria and biofilm, in which Legionella bacteria can multiply. Ideal for disinfecting and bleaching applications, the science behind the SciCHLOR® is the SciCELL® unit which allows the system to: run at optimum efficiency, reduce power, increase power efficiency, extend cell life, power-save shut down if no usage of sodium hypochlorite, and multi-pass scouring with the cell design.

The Scienco® SciCHLOR® makes sodium hypochlorite, which is great for disinfecting things where you want a chlorine residual treatment applications and longer shelf life.

“The SciCHLOR system was designed with a small, simple electrolytic cell,” says Bob Rebori, president, Bio-Microbics. “Every four hours as the water is circulated back through the cell, sodium hypochlorite is manufactured using low pressure and a small amount of electricity. At the same time, water passing through the cell actually cleans it while converting the brine into sodium hypochlorite, liquid chlorine.”

The SciCHLOR system includes integral brine tanks, chlorine storage tanks, control panel, multipass SciCELL unit and recirculation pump that enables the system to automatically run at optimum salinity. Operating modes include batch, continuous, clean, setup and diagnostic. Based on use and water quality, the cell plates will have to be descaled about once every month. This procedure takes about 1½ hours, start to finish.

Connected to an incoming water source (55 to 85 degrees F), the system creates 2 to 13 percent salinity (8 percent optimum brine) in about five hours. As chlorine is used, water automatically refills the brine tank. If no solution is used the system shuts down to save power.

It is NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certified and ideal for drinking water plants (especially for municipal plants moving away from gas chlorine, etc.).

The SciCHLOR provides “on demand” chlorine that runs at an optimum PH to make 97% sodium hypochlorite stable for up to 6 months and 3% sodium hypochlorous stable for 30-45 days.

As with most on-site chlorine generators, ours uses salt, water and an electrolytic cell to produce a chlorine solution. Unlike some other systems, ours uses multi-pass technology that produces very good disinfection capabilities.

The 10-pound unit produces about 150 gallons of solution at 8,000 ppm for treating between 800,000 and 900,000 gallons of water per day at 1.5 ppm. Both the 10- and 20-pound units have a footprint of 64 inches by 26 inches by 56 inches. A 500-pound custom module is available. They are usually operated in what we call “continuous mode” where the solution is constantly being pumped from the solution tank to a holding tank (by customer) for use.

“You can install the machines in such a way that once a week you load them with salt, flip the switch, create the chlorine and pump from the reservoir as needed,” Rebori says.

Maintenance includes a weekly or biweekly washdown using 1 gallon of Mighty Mike industrial descaler to keep the electrolytic cell operating at optimal efficiency.

Options include chemical feed pump to deliver the solution, solenoid valve to drain the product tank and lockout to stop the system when a water softener is in regeneration mode.

A popular application that uses the Scienco SciCHLOR System is the dairy industry. Here in the States, where the end user substitutes “off the shelf”, liquid bleach for the fresh solution created from the “direct feed” from the SciCHLOR (chlorine) tank, the bacteria counts drops way down from the dairy farm activities and keeps the animals healthy and disease-free..

We offer 4 standard sizes, 10, 20, 40 and 60 Lbs of hypochlorite/day units. Each of our systems include a brinemaking tank that uses the same technology as our large industrial brinemakers, a solution tank where the solution is concentrated to the selected concentration, mag drive circulating pump, valves, power supply and control cabinet with PLC program and controls.

We also offer a program to aid in sizing systems. We can also make custom size systems that use 250 or 500 Lbs/day modules. All of our systems are self-regulating meaning that after the initial parameters are established no adjustments need to be made.
