When accuracy is an important factor, as it is for most food processors, then custom made ingredients tablets provide an advantageous alternative to liquid injection.
The SCIENCO® Tablet Division of Scienco/FAST Systems, Inc., manufactures several categories of tablets, including food tablets, glass tabs and other specialty tablets. The Scienco Tablet Division also provides the technology to formulate tablets from anything, custom made for the specific and accurate needs of food processors.
Scienco tablets are non-FDA, non-orally consumed and primarily used in the food processing industry during canning. Each tablet order is confidential and custom mixed to meet each food processor’s specific ingredient requirements. Tablets come in sizes ranging from 2.1 grain to 400 grain tablets accommodating the broadest range of specialty product lines found in the food processing industry, such as tomatoes, mushrooms and salmon.
Food tablets can contain any ingredient that a food processor desires to use in flavoring, preservation and color control of their product. The tablets are injected or dropped into a can during the canning process, and there are a wide range of lease programs available for the tablet depositor. Because of their salt base, many canners like to use the tablets as opposed to liquid injection to avoid the corrosion of the canning line. Food tablets simply give food processors more control over added ingredients.
In addition to the above mentioned applications, the tablet formulation procedure is constantly identifying other specialty products that can benefit from the accuracy this technology provides. The Glass tabs, for example, are used in the production of certain glass bottles. Other specialty tablets have become useful in the fishing industry.
