FLOCRON: How It Works
The Flocron unit is a constant flow closed loop system. The product to be dispensed is delivered from a batch tank, to a recirculation tank. The recirculation tank uses a simple stainless steel shut-off valve with float to control the feed from the batching tank. The product is then pumped from the recirculation tank to the gravity feed tank. It then flows by gravity through the dispensing head were the deflector assembly diverts the product into the can or jar when the head is triggered. The flow of product is controlled by a valve on the gravity feed tank and also a nozzle on the dispensing head. Four nozzle sizes are available to regulate flow to the head. Product that was not directed into the container flows back to the recirculation tank and the process is repeated.
The Flocron unit is designed to dispense any viscous material. Flocron units are widely used for adding products like water, brine solutions, liquid citric acid, liquid calcium chloride and a variety of oils. The system has also been used to deliver several types of sauces. Flocron applications are primarily determined by the following, line speed, container opening, amount of product dispensed and product viscosity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: If I use two dispensing heads on the line can I double the line speed?
Answer: No, the speed of the Flocron is limited by the amount of time it requires to open and close the deflector assembly.
Question: If I use two dispensing heads on the line, can I double the amount of product dispensed?
Answer: Yes, The Flocron control cabinet is designed to operate two dispensing heads at the same time.
Question: Is there any way to increase line speed using the Flocron unit?
Answer: Yes, if there is enough room you can split the line ahead of the Flocron, in doing so you will reduce the line speed in half. Merge the two lines back together after the Flocron. Two Flocron units are required for this application.
