Australian Dept of Transportation and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) – Technology approval and meets the requirements set out in marine industry.
CGL (Canadian Great Lakes Coast Guard) - Issued by the Canadian Coast Guard, this maritime certifies that the treatment systems are approved on ships traveling in the certain bodies of water throughout the Great Lakes.
CSA (Canadian Standards Assoc) Electrical Certification - Works with the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI), Health Canada, provincial regulators, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to promote standards for consumer safety in North America and around the world. CSA testing is accepted by key conformity assessment organizations in the U.S. including IAPMO and ASSE. Tested and meets applicable standards for safety and/or performance.
European Standard with “Tropical Certification Rating” - With a "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standards,” the EC Community harmonizes the European (EN) standards by adopting universal requirements for Electrical Systems to cover all of Europe and promote the free movement of goods within Europe. When products have been shown to meet the essential requirements of the directive or EN standard the product is available for sale anywhere in the European market.
ETL/RoHS Compliant – Intertek Testing Services - Evaluated and meets the standard equivalent to the requirements set by Intertek and equivalent to UL (Underwriters Laboratories). Periodic checks are performed to assure consistent compliance of the product and in compliance with both Canadian and U.S. requirements.
IAPMO (Int’l Assoc of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials) - FOGHog® Grease Interceptor FH-20, FH-35, & FH-50 - Developed a Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code that is adopted by plumbing and mechanical engineers who follow these standards of uniformity to promote professionalism within the industry. Using the ANSI-accredited organization method, which is based on consensus, these codes set the standard for engineers to perform plumbing and mechanical duties uniformly, according to IAPMO standards of certification. Several states are or have considered making Mechanical or Plumbing Inspector certification a requirement for current or prospective inspectors.
IMO-International Maritime Organization Since the establishment of the United Nations, an international body has promoted maritime safety more effectively. IMO adopted a new version of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), focusing on facilitating international maritime traffic, the transportation of dangerous goods, and load lines. The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) now sets international standards for seafarers. STCW requires information to be available to allow others to check the validity of seafarers' certificates of competency to prevent danger to others on board, the marine environment and themselves.
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) - Title 5 Innovative and Alternative (I/A) system “General Use Permit” for Nitrogen Removal - (FAST® <2000 GPD). This approval process requires the technology to go through extensive field testing on at least 50 systems and tested quarterly for a minimum of 3 years to show that the system can meet or exceed an effluent limit of 19 mg/L of Total Nitrogen in 90% of the systems.
NSF (National Sanitation Foundation International)/ANSI Standard 40, Class 1 & 245 (Nitrogen Reduction) Certified - MicroFAST® 0.5, 0.75, 0.9, 1.5 and BioBarrier® MBR 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 - The NSF Mark is recognized for its value in international trade and respected by regulatory agencies at the local, state, and federal levels. For more than 59 years, NSF along with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has been committed to public health, safety, and protection of the environment and the world leader in standards development, product certification, education, and risk-management for public health and safety. NSF is widely recognized for its scientific and technical expertise in the health and environmental sciences. Its professional staff includes engineers, chemists, toxicologists, and environmental health professionals with broad experience both in public and private organizations. NSF has earned the Collaborating Center designations by the World Health Organization (WHO) both for Safety and Treatment.
PDI (Plumbing & Drainage Institute) certified - all FOGHog® Fats, Oils, & Grease Interceptors - Association of Plumbing Manufacturers, such as grease interceptors and drainage specialties. PDI promotes the advancement of innovative plumbing products through research, product requirements, and publicity. PDI preserves testing equipment in independent testing laboratories to assure compliance with Standard PDI-WH201 and, for grease interceptors, Standard PDI-G101. PDI currently has a laboratory in St. Louis, MO for the testing, rating and certification for interceptors within its standards. PDI works with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to develop National Standards through the A-112 Committee.

U.S. Coast Guard / NMC (National Maritime Center) Technology Approval- Compliance with the STCW amendments adopted by IMO for demonstration of skills, teamwork procedures, and continuous monitoring of training skills, the NMC (National Maritime Center) is a part of the Coast Guard that preserves awareness among the public and marine and environmental industries by communicating Coast Guard regulatory activities and policy guidelines. NMC functions nationally and internationally to start and carryout various marine safety programs.
US EPA/Environmental Technology Verification- RetroFAST® .250 & .375 - US Environment Protection Agency’s ETV program develops testing procedures to validate performance of technology that may improve the protection of the environment, including water and wastewater. ETV accelerates the introduction of monitoring and environmental treatment technologies in the market.
